Third – \u00a0Mt.\u00a0Carmel (300 m) in early June, 1998 and a third from Nahal Keziv (150 m) in mid-May 2000.\u00a0Food plants unknown.<\/p>\n

9)\u00a0Hemaris syriaca<\/strong><\/i>\u00a0(Daniel, 1939) –\u00a0<\/strong>A single specimen was collected at southern Golan Heights (500 m) in late May 1991.The specimen was caught at noon on the south facing slopes of the\u00a0Yarmuk\u00a0River\u00a0feeding\u00a0on flowers of Fabaceae.\u00a0Food plant in\u00a0Israel\u00a0is unknown<\/p>\n

10)\u00a0Hemaris croatica croatica<\/strong><\/i>\u00a0(Esper, 1779) –\u00a0<\/strong>Only two records from Golan Hights: mid-May\u00a01996, in\u00a0a sparse oak forest on the southern Golan Heights (600m) and in early May 2003, where\u00a0the southern slopes of\u00a0Mt.\u00a0Hermon\u00a0connect to the\u00a0Golan Heights\u00a0near Majdal Shams (1200 m).\u00a0Food plant probably Cephalaria (Dipsacaceae).<\/p>\n

11)\u00a0Clarina syriaca<\/strong><\/i>\u00a0(Linnaeus, 1758) –\u00a0<\/strong>Recorded from Dan valley, Jordan springs (150 m), the Hula valley (100m), the western Galilee in Nahal Keziv (100 m), Mt Carmel (400m), the Lower Galilee, Mt. Meron (800 m) and Samaria near Shechem (600 m). The most southern record was from\u00a0Jerusalem\u00a0(800 m).\u00a0Food plant: \u00a0Viris (Vitaceae).\u00a0Flight period: late May to late September.<\/p>\n

12)\u00a0Clarina kotschyi<\/i>\u00a0(Kollar, 1850) –\u00a0<\/strong>This species was reported in 1933 at the\u00a0Judean\u00a0Mountains\u00a0but was not seen in\u00a0Israel\u00a0since. Food plants: Vitis vinifera, Parthenocissus (in\u00a0Iran).<\/p>\n

13)\u00a0Daphnis nerii<\/i>\u00a0(Linnaeus, 1758) –\u00a0<\/strong>Common all over\u00a0Israel\u00a0except for desert (limited to villages).\u00a0Food plants: Nerium (Apocynaceae) an occasionally Ipomoea (Convolvulaceae).\u00a0Flight period: March to December.<\/p>\n

20)\u00a0Choerocampa suellus<\/i>\u00a0(Staudinger, I878)<\/strong> ssp? – One specimen was collected in I7.Y.1957) at the Dan Spring of the Jordan. Another specimen deposited in Tel Aviv University collection is labeled Jerusalem. In early June 2004, a specimen was collected near Beit Lehem (750 m). Flight period: from May to June. Food plants: probably Galium sp. and Epilobium sp.<\/p>\n
